AIM OF THE PROJECT:

The proposed project is designed as a follow-up project deepening and extending outputs of the previous project. The main objective deals with increasing quality of education according to the European standards-setting up quality management with the emphasis on pilot application of selected methodological tools, improving research and scientific capacities and improving the functionality of students’ self-governance at two selected universities in Sumy. The objective will be achieved by sharing of know-how and good practice from Czech higher education through direct participation of Czech university teachers.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES:

Increase of know-how in quality management of university education. In 2017 the activity will start with a 2-day workshop with discussion for SSU teachers and management staff. The second half of 2017, another 2-day workshop for management staff and teachers from both universities (SNAU and SSU) will be organized. In the first half of 2018, a 2-day workshop focused on the creation of the document setting up management of education quality at selected pilot faculties will be held at SNAU and SSU.

Application of quality tools in practice. 1-day working meeting with representatives of SNAU and SSU will serve for selection of one study program at each university which will be pilot-evaluated in terms of quality management. Further, different tools will be presented and discussed and modified. The results of the final report will be presented at both universities to management staff, teachers and students’ self-governance.

The brochure covering experience with quality assurance. The brochure will be on the webs of universities in the second half of 2018. The brochure will be in UA language.

Scientific workshops. Each year two 1-day scientific workshops will be organized with topics covering all steps of scientific writing and publishing. Consultations over specific work of participants will be after each workshop.

Scientific grant for students of SNAU and SSU. Each year 3-4 students’ projects will be granted in open competition. The application will be in English and selected by the committee (CULS, SNAU, SSU representatives). Before the open call – half-day workshop on application writing will be organized.

Summer school 2018 will be organized for 25 students focused on rural development in UA countryside. The SS will be a combination of theoretical and practical parts including field survey.

Equipment for education

Workshops and meetings of students’ self-governance of SNAU and SSU. In 2017 the first meeting of representatives of students’ self-governance of SNAU, SSU and CULS will be organized. A one-day workshop covering topics as structure, function and possibilities of participation of self-governance group in university life. In the second half of 2017 2-day seminar focused on tools for evaluation of education, the quality will be held. Representatives of students’ self-governance will attend the presentation of final reports. Further, a 1-day seminar on national and international networking of students’ self-governance groups will be held.

Grants for activities of students’ self-governance. The grant will support the activities of students’ self-governance.
