In autumn of 2015 Sumy NAU became a partner of the project “Support in Harmonization of Introduction of the Bologna Principles at Ukrainian Agri-Universities, case study SNAU” implemented by Czech University of Life Sciences Prague with the financial support of Czech Development Agency. The project is designed for 2015-2016 and is of research and applied character.
The purpose of the project is to support the democratization of the university management system through the exchange of know-how in the field of education quality, as well as strengthen cooperation between CURL and SNAU.
On December 3-7 2015, there was a visit to SNAU of Mr. Prof. David Herak, the chairman of CURL Senate (2010-2014), deputy dean for the international activity of the faculty of Engineering and Technologies, during which a meeting was held with SNAU academia. There was a project presentation and discussion of further prospects of cooperation within the framework of the project. Mr. Herak visited the faculties of the university, especially focusing on discussing the prospects of cooperation in the research field with the faculty of Engineering and Technologies. English-speaking teachers of SNAU were invited to publish joint publications with their Czech counterparts in the scientific journals of the University.
On December 6-10 2015, CURL delegation headed by the project coordinator, Dr. Jana Mazancova, deputy dean for the development of the Faculty of Tropical Agrarian Sciences, CURL, visited SNAU. Thus, for SNAU academia and administration, information seminars were held on the practical principles of ensuring the quality of education within the Bologna process, as well as on the experience of implementing the principles of Bologna system in EU, and in particular, in CURL. Participants of the seminar received certificates.
For Sumy NAU students, Mr. Hynek Roubik, a postgraduate student, a Student Representative in the Senate, CURL, the head of the Student Chamber at the Committee on Professional Education of the Czech Republic, organized a seminar in order to exchange best practices of democratization of the university management process and the peculiarities of students’ self-governance in the Czech Republic.
Dr. Jan Beseda, a researcher at the Centre for Higher Education Studies in the Czech Republic, a Bologna Process expert, held working meetings with the university administrative staff. They discussed the improvement of a certain element of education quality management, determined by the administration of SNAU, resulting with recommendations.
