The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is an intergovernmental organization with 194 Member Nations, two associate members and one member organization, the European Union.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was founded in 1991 to create a new post-Cold War era in central and Eastern Europe. The EBRD is owned by 66 countries, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank.
These organizations have been implementing initiatives and projects in Ukraine aimed at:
– Elimination of hunger, provision of food insecurity and malnutrition (ensure that people have access to enough high-quality food, promote food security and good nutrition and availability of information about hunger)
– Reducing rural poverty (improve small farm productivity and social protection)
– Transition (presence of competitive, inclusive, well-governed, environmentally friendly, resilient and integrated market)
– Environmental and social sustainability (promotion of environmentally and socially sound and sustainable development)
– Gender equality (as an integral part of sustainable and environmentally sound development).
Since 2004 Sumy NAU is actively and fruitfully working with The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). SNAU has implemented the following projects:
2017-2018 – “Supporting the Development of Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperatives”
2017-2018 – “African Swine Fever Risk Mitigation and Awareness-Raising in Ukraine (Phase II)”
2017 – “OSRO/UKR/601/CAN Emergency food security assistance through the provision of critical agricultural inputs in the conflict-affected areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions”
2015-2016 – Second stage of the project: Module Training Program “Successful grain agribusiness in a small area”.

Since 2018, jointly with The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and international partners, Sumy NAU is implementing the following project:
